“It’s a fine thing to have ability, but the ability to discover ability in others is the true test.”
- Elbert Hubbard
I began working at the tender age of 17 in graphic design. The majority of my work was in the prepress department of printing shops due to my high level of proficiency with computers and design software, which, back in the 1990s, was a rare trait.
In 2004, I specialized in Adobe Flash and ActionScript programming, which led me to move to Norfolk, VA, USA for an opportunity to work in developing flash-based applications (e.g. interactive mall maps) for digital kiosks at a company called HotSpot Marketing. At the same time, I honed my skills by developing a mixture of PHP/flash-based digital magazines for other companies based in Virginia and North Carolina.
I returned to Mexico in 2007 and following popular demand from my former clientele, re-opened my advertising company and focused on web development. My partners and I saw a growing need for customized, web-based administration systems for small and medium sized enterprises. Developing these soon became our primary service.
In 2012, I sold my successful company and moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to be with my then-girlfriend and somehow managed to fool her into marrying me. I worked there for nearly two years, developing interactive learning tools for a Singapore based company.
In late 2014, I moved with my wife to New York, NY, USA, where I work as a freelance web developer ever since.
